Corporate Client Cafe + Dining

By elevating the environment and enhancing the experience Carson Design was able to create a unique destination space for employees at this Global Corporation.

The technology campus lacked a food service area as the facility had closed that amenity years before. With the increase of employee activity on campus a modern collaborative space for dining was desired as well as a fine dining celebration space. And so, it began with a focus on providing a hub for connectivity and dining utilizing the substructure of the existing kitchen if possible. As the design ensued a coffee bar area was incorporated as well as an addition for the fine dining and bar. All spaces were to be a departure from the expected and provide a destination space with a key goal of attracting and retaining talent.

Major building elements were removed including an open stair and planter feature, interior walls, ceilings, and concrete floors. The vast open space allowed organic shapes to be introduced into the otherwise very geometric building. Intentionality was key to the success of this approach. Creating comfortable open flowing space while maintaining classic style reset the pulse of the building with a new welcome energy.

The fine dining building addition grew into the interior courtyard with full height glass walls with access to outdoor space as well as garage doors to the adjacent interior spaces. This provides the ability to use the space daily but also enclose it for private events.

The dining space, bookended by the servery and the coffee shop, is centrally located and yet divided with the interior composition to provide unannounced areas. Architectural elements provide the backdrop for the canvas enhanced by nodes of color and texture creating an inviting experience.
